Former Presiding Member (PM) for Kwadaso Municipal Assembly, Hon. Stephen Kwame Kwakye, has expressed concern over the unfortunate current happenings in the ruling New Patriotic Party.
According to him, the NPP stands in a clear position to lose power in 2024 as a result of growing confusion within the party.
Recall that, several cases of violence and confusion have been recorded in the ongoing NPP, polling station and coordinators elections in the various constituencies of the country. Some constituencies, such as; Kwadaso, Fomena, Manhyia North, Subin, Ejisu, Shama, Suhum among others have recorded series of violence in the elections.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, hosted by Nana Yaw Mensah Joel, the former PM said, some greedy NPP executives are behind the happenings and that seem to ruin the fortunes of the party in the next presidential polls.
He said, “violence within the party is gradually sending the NPP to opposition. People within the Ashanti region who gave the party more than one million votes have lost interest in the party due to the bad decisions and selfish interest of some executives.”
Kwame Kwakye declared that, he is not being paid to work for the glory of the party. He is willingly doing everything because of the love he has for NPP. Therefore, with all the efforts, if the party’s leadership or anyone let NPP goes to opposition in 2024 by his or her selfish interest, God will never forgive such persons.
“Nobody pays me, feed me nor pays my bills, but because of the love I’ve for NPP, I’ve sacrificed myself to fight for its glory. So if you let this party go to opposition via your selfish interest, God will punish you; you will die and rot in your room.” He stated on the show.
He further disclosed that, the leadership of the NPP has completely failed since the party has thrown away its democracy.
“NPP is no more democratic.” Kwame Kwakye added.
