Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has reversed his decision and lifted the suspension on four Members of Parliament (MPs), allowing them to return to the chamber immediately.
The reinstated MPs Frank Annoh-Dompreh (Nsawam-Adoagyiri), Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor (South Dayi), Jerry Ahmed Shaib (Weija-Gbawe), and Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli (Gushegu) have been directed to resume their parliamentary duties without delay.
The Speaker’s decision followed an appeal from Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who urged him to reconsider the suspension.
Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga also supported the plea, citing the Minority’s cooperation during the vetting of Ministers-designate.
The suspension had been imposed in response to chaos that erupted during the Appointments Committee’s vetting session.
Despite reinstating the MPs, Speaker Bagbin stressed that a special committee would continue its investigation into the disturbances.
