Hopeson Adorye, a member of the Movement for Change, has issued a stern warning to government appointees under the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stating that they will not be allowed to travel abroad until the handing over of government to the NDC is complete.
Adorye made this declaration on Oyerepa Breakfast Time with Kwesi Parker Wilson, leaving many to wonder about the implications of his statement.
According to Adorye, any government appointee who attempts to travel abroad will be humiliated.
He claims to have positioned his supporters at the airport to ensure that this directive is enforced.
“If you’re a government appointee under NPP, you can’t travel abroad until the handing over process is done.
If you’re a man attempt to travel and we shall see.
I’ve positioned my boys at the Airport (Kotoka) to humiliate anyone who attempts to travel.” Adorye stated.
When questioned about his authority to stop these individuals, Adorye cited the Ghanaian constitution, which empowers citizens to defend the nation.
“I’m a citizen of Ghana and the constitution empowers every citizen to defend the nation.
We’re going to collect all their loot to complete various projects (Krofrom Market).”
“I’ll make sure they face the law.” Hopeson Adorye added.
His comments come in the wake of NPP’s huge loss to opposition party, the National Democratic Congress in the just-ended Ghana’s general polls.
Leader of the NDC, John Mahama is expected to be sworn in for his second term as President of Ghana on January 7, 2025.
