The Member of Parliament (MP) for Okaikoi Central in the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Patrick Yaw Boamah, has extended a helping hand to victims of the Kumasi Adum fire disaster with a generous donation of GH₵50,000.

During his visit to the affected area, Mr. Boamah, who traces his roots to the Ashanti Region, was accompanied by the MP for Subin, Lawyer Obiri Yeboah.

As part of his donation, he presented a GH₵50,000 check to the leadership of the affected traders and assured them that he would support them again with GH₵50,000 if they began to rebuild structures in the burnt market.

In addition to the financial support, the Okaikoi Central MP pledged to supply 200 bags of cement to aid in reconstruction efforts, demonstrating his commitment to assisting the over 10,000 fire victims.

Mr. Boamah took the opportunity to commend his colleague, the Subin MP, for his relentless lobbying for support for the victims. He acknowledged the significance of solidarity in times of crisis and urged other leaders to contribute towards the relief efforts.

The leadership of the victims expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Patrick Yaw Boamah for his timely intervention and generosity. They offered prayers for him and encouraged other MPs to follow his example in extending support to those affected by the disaster.

Since the Adum fire outbreak on March 21, 2025, several prominent figures from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have also made donations. These include Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice-President, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and some philanthropic businessmen.
