Hopeson Adorye, a member of the Movement for Change, has made a bold announcement regarding the movement’s decision to become a strong political party.
With Movement for Change’s sights set firmly on leading Ghana, its leader, Alan Kyerematen is planning to officially register the movement to become a major political party.
This declaration was made on Oyerepa Breakfast Time with Kwesi Parker Wilson.
“Movement for Change would be registered as a political party. We’re going to put structures in place.” Hopeson Adorye hinted.
He declared that the Movement for Change is not targeting the next four years, as Ghanaians are unlikely to change the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the next election cycle.
Instead, the party will focus on building its structures and ensuring that it is well-positioned to take the reins after the NDC has completed its two terms.
“We’re not targeting the next 4 years because Ghanaians are not going to change NDC in the next 4 years. So we are going to build our party and make sure that, after NDC have exhausted their two terms, Movement for Change should be the next party to rule Ghana.” Adorye hinted.
The Movement for Change is not new to the Ghanaian political scene.
Alan Kyerematen, a former trade minister, formed the movement, also known as the Butterfly Movement, to contest the presidential elections as an independent candidate.
In the recent polls, Kyerematen garnered a significant percentage of the vote, making him the 4th force in Ghanaian politics.
