Girl, sixteen years of Cill Anglican Junior High School at Akaporiso in the Obuasi Municipal of Ashanti region has died after she drowned in a stream.
The sad demise of the teen, Sakinatu Mohammed happened last Sunday.
Sources say the deceased lives with her parents at Akaporiso, a suburb of Obuasi.
According to the residents, she was sent by her female teacher (Madam) to fill her cylinder.
She slipped and fell in a nearby stream called Merekwe around 1 pm after she had wanted to cross it to fill the cylinder with gas for her female teacher.
Her body was later recovered around 5 pm after a thorough search in the stream by the national disaster management (NADMO) and residents of the area.
Sakinatu Mohammed’s body has since been deposited at the Obuasi Government hospital for autopsy.
The Obuasi police on the other hand are investigating the matter to find out the actual cause of the teen’s death.
