The Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) Committee has officially submitted its final report on suspected corruption cases to President John Dramani Mahama.
During a brief ceremony at the Jubilee House on Monday, February 10, 2025, the committee presented its findings after weeks of investigation into allegations of corruption and misappropriated state resources.
Speaking at the event, ORAL Chairman Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa highlighted the deep concerns Ghanaians have about corruption and the urgency with which they expect the government to act.
He revealed that the committee received 2,417 complaints, including 1,493 via a toll-free hotline and 924 through emails. Additionally, 44 petitions came directly from civil society organizations (CSOs) and concerned citizens, while 59 out of 230 cases were linked to issues raised during the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s time in opposition, prompting a more detailed review.
“Over the past 53 days, we have carefully examined these petitions and ensured a comprehensive analysis of each case,” Ablakwa stated.
Receiving the report, President Mahama commended the committee for its dedication and pro-bono service to the nation. He assured Ghanaians that the government would thoroughly assess the findings and take decisive action.
“Every pesewa recovered from this operation will be reinvested in national development, reinforcing that Ghana will no longer be a breeding ground for corruption,” he declared.
The ORAL Committee’s work forms a crucial part of the government’s broader anti-corruption drive aimed at recovering looted state assets and ensuring accountability.
