The Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee has received a total of 2,417 complaints from individuals and civil society organizations (CSOs) regarding corruption and the misappropriation of public resources.
Chairman of the committee, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, made this disclosure on Monday, February 10, while presenting the team’s final report to President John Dramani Mahama.
Providing a breakdown of the complaints, he revealed, “We received 1,493 calls through the toll-free line and 924 emails. Fortunately, all calls were automatically recorded, and the emails have been preserved for verification and validation.”
Ablakwa underscored the significance of the ORAL Committee, emphasizing that the large volume of complaints demonstrated the necessity of the President’s intervention.
“For those who questioned the relevance and timing of the President’s decision, this is your evidence—2,417 complaints received. Without the ORAL preparatory team, where would all these petitioners have turned for redress?” he asked.
The ORAL Committee’s work is part of the government’s broader anti-corruption initiative, aimed at recovering looted state assets and promoting accountability.
