The 12-member committee established to investigate the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) loss in the 2024 general elections officially presented its report to the party’s national leadership on Wednesday, April 16.
The presentation took place during a brief ceremony at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
The committee, chaired by former Speaker of Parliament Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, handed over the final report, which outlines the factors behind the party’s electoral defeat and offers recommendations to avert similar outcomes in the future.
The event drew several high-profile figures from the party, including former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and General Secretary Justin Kodua, among other senior members.
Despite the keen interest surrounding the findings, Prof. Oquaye declined to disclose any details of the report during the ceremony. The NPP leadership has not yet released the contents to the public.
The committee’s work is seen as a critical step in the party’s efforts to regroup and strategize ahead of future electoral contests.
