NPP Primary: Ken Agyapong’s outburst at peace pact due to comprehension challenges – Pius Hadzide
Pius Enam Hadzide, spokesperson to Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has dismissed claims by former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, that there were errors in the peace pact signed by New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirants.
Speaking in an interview with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Mr. Hadzide described the allegations as false and unfounded, insisting that the document was properly prepared and duly signed by all parties present.
His comments follow an outburst by Mr. Agyapong during the signing of the NPP peace pact, a document intended to promote unity, tolerance, and decorum among aspirants and their supporters ahead of the party’s presidential primary.
“It is not true that there was any mistake on the face of the document. Everybody signed where they were supposed to sign,” Mr. Hadzide stated.
He further suggested that Mr. Agyapong’s reaction stemmed from what he described as comprehension challenges, rather than any genuine flaw in the document.
“Ken Agyapong has comprehension challenges, and that is the reason for his outburst at the peace pact signing,” he said.
The NPP peace pact was introduced by party leadership as part of efforts to ensure a peaceful and orderly internal contest, amid heightened political tensions ahead of the presidential primaries.
Party officials have repeatedly urged aspirants and their supporters to adhere strictly to the principles outlined in the pact to preserve unity within the party.
