Daniel Nii Arde Tagoe, Chief of Staff to the James Town Paramount Chief, and Presiding Elder of the Church of Pentecost, Mamprobi District, Bethel-Sempe has urged all parties involved in the ongoing conflict between the Kusasis and Mamprusis in Bawku, Upper East Region, to lay down their arms and seek peaceful resolution.
Speaking during an Easter celebration at the Church of Pentecost, Mamprobi District, Sempe, Tagoe emphasized that Easter is a time for peace and forgiveness, making it an opportune moment for the feuding factions to agree on peaceful terms.
Tagoe pleads with all parties to put an end to the violence. “Conflict will worsen if urgent attention is not given”. He calls on traditional councils, Christian bodies, and the nation to work together to find a lasting solution.
He reminds traditional rulers to follow due process in all matters, ensuring that their stools are not up for grabs or sale.
Rev. Nathaniel Adjartey, Head Pastor of Church of Pentecost Mamprobi District Bethel-Sempe, called on the public to reflect on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as a guide for promoting peaceful coexistence.
He emphasized the importance of reflecting on the significance of Easter, including Christ’s trials, death, and resurrection. He highlighted the good things that come from Christ’s sacrifice, encouraging the public to appreciate the value of Easter.
Rev. Adjartey urged the public to use the Easter season as an opportunity to promote peaceful coexistence, drawing inspiration from Christ’s teachings and example.
On his part, Mrs. Florence Adjartey, women’s leader in the church issued a heartfelt caution to the youth about the dangers of drug abuse, particularly highlighting the destructive effects of the drug “Red.” She emphasized the importance of seeking help from God, regardless of the level of addiction.
Mrs. Adjartey warned against the devastating consequences of drug abuse, urging the youth to avoid it at all costs.
She advised content creators to be mindful of their online presence, cautioning against exposing themselves in ways that could harm their social lives and future prospects.
She also encouraged the youth to live decent lives, setting a good example for others to follow. She warned against seeking attention through inappropriate means, emphasizing that such actions can have long-term consequences.
