The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 26 new cases of Mpox, pushing the total number of infections nationwide to 45. The latest figures, recorded as of May 31, 2025, were announced by the Ministry of Health via its official Facebook page on Tuesday, June 3.
Despite the sharp increase in cases, health authorities say no deaths have been recorded so far. Currently, two individuals are receiving treatment.
According to the GHS, the recent spike is largely due to enhanced surveillance and improved contact tracing efforts, which have enabled quicker identification and isolation of infections within affected communities.
The public has been urged to remain vigilant and adhere to basic safety measures. These include avoiding close contact with symptomatic individuals, practicing good hygiene, and seeking medical attention at the nearest health facility if symptoms appear.
To keep the public informed, the GHS announced that regular updates on the Mpox situation will be shared every Tuesday through its official social media platforms.
Health officials are calling for continued public cooperation to help curb the spread of the virus.
