Mahama appoints 18 new Deputy Heads of Mission, including Oppong-Peprah and Dotsei Malor
President John Dramani Mahama has appointed 18 new Deputy Heads of Mission to serve in Ghana’s embassies and high commissions across the world.
The list includes notable figures such as former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Thomas Oppong-Peprah (Rtd.), and former Presidential Spokesperson, Ben Dotsei Malor. Others named are Sophia Karen Ackuaku, former Member of Parliament for Domeabra-Obom, as well as George Harrison, Sanni Jajah, Aquinas Quansah, and Jamilatu Amadu, among others.
Their appointments were announced in an official letter from the Presidency, signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama.
According to the letter, the appointments are part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic representation by combining expertise from the military, communications, and public service sectors.
Ben Dotsei Malor, who previously served as Presidential Spokesperson and a communications adviser at the United Nations, has been assigned to Ghana’s Embassy in Washington, D.C.
The new deputy heads are expected to support Ghana’s ambassadors and high commissioners in advancing the country’s foreign policy objectives and deepening international partnerships.
