President John Dramani Mahama has officially launched the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme, describing it as a transformative national agenda aimed at reshaping Ghana’s economic trajectory.
Speaking at a ceremony in Accra, President Mahama unveiled what he called the “24-H Plus Agenda”, a strategic framework designed to boost productivity, drive export-led growth, and create inclusive economic opportunities across all sectors.
“Today marks the formal launch of the 24-hour economy and accelerated export development programme, what we now proudly call the 24-H Plus Agenda,” Mahama announced.
He emphasized that the initiative goes beyond policy—it represents a bold national reset intended to unlock Ghana’s full economic potential and usher in a new era of industrial growth and job creation.
“This is more than a policy initiative; it is a national reset—a bold, strategic shift to unleash our country’s full productive capacity,” the President said.
Framing the initiative within Ghana’s historical and ideological context, Mahama described the programme as a return to the founding principles of self-reliance, innovation, and inclusive development.
“Today, we reclaim our founders’ vision of a self-reliant, industrious, and inclusive African nation—one that thrives on organised creativity and delivers prosperity for all,” he said.
President Mahama further stressed that the success of the 24-H Plus Agenda will hinge on private sector leadership, with government serving as a facilitator and catalyst for growth.
