Lawyers in Search of Democracy (LINSOD) have criticised the stands taken by the Ghana Bar Association(GBA) during the midyear conference calling on President Mahama to revoke his suspension of Chief Justice.
At a press conference, the group admonished that there the decision was being initiated by some few NPP elements within the Bar Association, who were unhappy that the earlier statement issued by the Association did not support the NPP’s position on the removal of the Chief Justice.
President of LINSOD, Eric Delanyo Alifo ESQ, stated that there is no legal obligation on the president to publicly disclose what the Bar Association is requesting when the process is still ongoing.
According to him, president Mahama is performing his constitutional duties very well, which is in accordance with article 146 of the 1992 constitution that former President Akufo Addo used in the removal of the former chairperson of the Electoral Commission, madam Charlotte Osei.
He therefore called on President John Dramani Mahama to ignore the said said resolution as one of many small noises of the NPP and its GBA affiliate.
Lawyer Eric Delanyo Alifo opined that President Mahama should adhere to its earlier statement issued on April 24th, 2025, which had urged all the players in the process to continue to uphold the constitution of Ghana.
