The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, in Sagnarigu, Alhaji Dagoma, has expressed his belief that Kennedy Agyapong, a potential Presidential candidate for the party in 2024, is not suitable to lead.
Alhaji Dagoma has accused Agyapong of being an evil individual who aims to bring the party into opposition.
These remarks were made in response to allegations made by Kennedy Agyapong during his tour in the Northern region. Agyapong claimed that certain constituency Chairmen were bribed with GHc100,000 to vote for a specific candidate during the Special Delegates conference.
Chairman Dagoma strongly disagreed with Agyapong’s claims and openly voiced his opposition while Agyapong was speaking.
In an interview on the Oyerepa Breakfast Show, Alhaji Dagoma clarified that there was absolutely no truth to Agyapong’s statements and that they had never received any money from any candidate.
“Kennedy Agyapong is an evil person and does not want the betterment of the party (NPP)… He is only interested in taking the party into opposition and dividing the party with lies and deception,” he stated.
Refuting taking money to vote for Dr Bawumia during the delegates’ conference, Alhaji Dagoma said, he (Bawumia) didn’t give me anything as a chairman of this constituency, he only gave chairman Sadat of Tamale North a vehicle … I didn’t receive anything from him.”
Chairman Dagoma subsequently sent a strong warning to Kennedy Agyapong stating that the next time it happens he will deal with him.
“The next time he(Kennedy) comes to the Northern region and make these allegations…. I will beat and give him a showdown,“ he said.
