The New Patriotic Party’s National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye popularly known as Nana B has disclosed that some journalists in the country are involved in illegal mining (galamsey).
Some political figures like Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP, Mr Antwi Bosiako (Wontumi), Besome Freho DCE, Yaw Danso and others have been accused of engaging in galamsey despite President Akufo-Addo’s quest to stop the menace.
But, Nana B believes that some journalists in the country are also involved in the illegal practice.
“There are some Journalists who are doing galamsey, they hide behind people to do galamsey, they are corrupt….” Nana B emphatically stated on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Monday.
He went on to say that, there are some politicians and chiefs who are also involved in galamsey
“Politicians, journalists, chiefs and MMDCEs are all involved in the galamsey operation, so the way we’re talking about it, it’s a major step, we should be serious in its fight…. So prosecution is one key step that we need to let people see that we are serious.”
