Dr Kwabena Osei Adubofuor is one of the candidates from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who is vying for the parliamentary seat in the Suame Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
The incumbent, Dr. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, will not be contesting for the position, opening up the opportunity for several others to compete in the NPP parliamentary primaries on January 27, 2024.
During an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Dr Adubofuor outlined his main vision for running in the Suame constituency.
He expressed his desire to establish an iron rod manufacturing company at Suame Magazine, which is known as the hub of automobiles in the Ashanti Region.
Dr. Adubofuor revealed that there is a significant number of junk vehicles being transported from Kumasi to Accra for exportation daily. Therefore, if he is elected as a Member of Parliament for the Suame constituency, he plans to attract investors to build a company that specializes in producing iron rods.
“There are thousands of junk vehicles at Suame Magazine which are being conveyed to Accra every day for exportation…. It’s my vision to bring investors to situate a Steel Plant to produce iron rods for our construction industries.
The factory will use all these junk vehicles which are being exported from the country as raw materials for the production of the iron rods.” He stated.
