The Member of Parliament for Manhyia North Constituency, Mr. Akwasi Konadu, has expressed his support for Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as a suitable running mate for NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia.
This endorsement comes amid ongoing discussions about NAPO’s suitability for the role, with some questioning his competence due to perceived arrogance.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time on July 8, 2024, Mr. Konadu, who also serves as the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, emphasized that while NAPO may have flaws, his positive qualities and contributions outweigh them, and align with the country’s development goals.
“If you don’t understand somebody, don’t ascribe negativity to that person. I see a competent person in the person of Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh. I see an assertive person in him. I see an accomplished person in him. And I see a person who is so affable and welcoming by everybody.” The Manhyia North MP said.
According to the Manhyia North MP, although the NPP’s running mate may have some flaws as a human, his flaws do not outweigh his positive impacts.
“Everybody on this planet has his or her flaws, but Napo’s flaws doest outweigh his positivities. His flaws are not more than the good qualities that he has. And the good qualities propel the development of the country. NAPO’s flaws have never derailed his activities or the progress that he has made irrespective of how it has been exaggerated.” Akwasi Konadu stated.
He however, encouraged understanding and not judging others based on perceived shortcomings.
