Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has rubbished a report that said he endorsed Vice President Bawumia as flagbearer for the party in 2024.
The Vice President, Bawumia, is seeking to succeed his boss, Nana Akufo-Addo in 2024.
It was widely reported that Nana B, as popularly known, led some members of the party to visit the vice president and declare support for him.
Nana B, in an interview with Oyerepa Breakfast Time, denied endorsing Dr Bawumia’s presidential ambition.
“I have never endorsed anybody. Have you heard me say on the radio or in a statement that I support Bawumia?”
“We went to pay a visit to Bawumia and assured him of our support as vice president, not his presidential ambition. Even that was in 2021 when I was a youth organiser of the party. “
He explained that he can support Bawumia as vice president. However, as a member of the party, he cannot support Bawumia’s presidential ambitions.
