An Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Bekwai Government Hospital in the Ashanti Region, Dr. (Mrs.) Abena Yawson has revealed that herbal medicines cannot cure fibroids.
“I don’t know why they claim herbal medicines can cure fibroids. It can never melt because even the texture of fibroids tells it cannot melt. There is no Herbal medicine on this earth that can cure fibroids and those herbalists are deceiving us. I can emphatically say that any herbalist who claims his/ her medicine can melt fibroid is a liar”. Dr. Yawson said this on Oyerepa Breakfast Time on Oyerepa TV on Thursday.
According to the Gynecologist, the only treatment of fibroids is a surgical operation.
She however advised Ghanaians to always report to the hospital immediately they notice changes in their body and should avoid self-medications.
“The only treatment for fibroid is a surgical operation and it involves two effective types, it’s either the womb is removed with the fibroid or only the fibroid is removed. Let us all stop self-medication and report to the hospital immediately we see changes in our body”. Dr. Abena added.
