The Ghana Union Movement (GUM) has officially introduced Madam Evelyn Serwaa Bonsu as the running mate for Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, aka Sofo Kyiri Abosom in the 2024 general elections.
The decision to choose a female, Rev. Andrews emphasized his commitment to promoting women’s participation in politics, stating that Madam Bonsu’s selection demonstrates his dedication to the interests of Ghanaian women.
According to him, there will be employment for everyone—both the educated and uneducated. Jobs will not be limited to qualifications alone. “We will also consider abilities, proven skills, and expertise in areas where specialization is needed,” he said.
Rev. Andrews called on all Ghanaians to have faith in God and trust him to lead the country to a better future and navigate it out of the current economic crisis.
Speaking during her outdooring in Accra, Evelyn Serwaa Bonsu expressed gratitude to Rev. Andrews for entrusting her with the responsibility and vowed to be a voice for the voiceless, empower women, and advocate for justice and integrity.
She described as humble, passionate, and truthful, has pledged to work tirelessly to ensure GUM’s victory in the election.
Serwaa Bonsu highlighted GUM’s plans to prioritize healthcare, infrastructure, education, and tackle corruption, ensuring accountability from government appointees. She urged Ghanaians to trust and support GUM’s mission to steer the nation out of its current economic challenges.
“Economic hardship is overwhelming, and it’s time to take bold action. We will invest in healthcare, infrastructure, and education, and ensure our resources benefit all citizens, not just a few,” she declared.
