The Ghana Institute of Safety and Environmental Professionals (GhiSEP) has raised concerns over public health safety following the confirmation of four Mpox cases in Ghana.
In an official statement, GhiSEP emphasized the urgent need for organisations and institutions to adopt proactive measures aimed at safeguarding both employees and the wider public. The institute has, therefore, released seven key safety guidelines designed to help curb the potential spread of the virus.
According to GhiSEP, the implementation of these safety protocols is essential in demonstrating a strong commitment to workplace and public health. The institute further noted that such actions would not only mitigate the risks of infection but also enhance public confidence in how the situation is being managed.
The statement comes at a time when health authorities are ramping up efforts to prevent further transmission and ensure early detection of Mpox, a disease known to spread through close contact with infected individuals.
GhiSEP urged all organisations to remain vigilant and responsive, encouraging adherence to safety best practices during this critical period.
