The Ghana Police Service has successfully arrested Adinda Akpo Abdou Moudjibou, a notorious armed robbery suspect who had been evading capture.
Moudjibou, also known by aliases Mohamed Djandjo and Biya-Kigui, was wanted for a string of high-profile robberies in elite residential areas in Accra between 2022 and 2024.
Following intelligence reports that Moudjibou had fled to Togo, the Ghana Police Service collaborated with the Togolese authorities and INTERPOL to track him down.
On January 30, 2025, the Togolese authorities successfully arrested Moudjibou in Lomé.
Speaking at a press briefing, DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General of CID explained that on May 14, 2025, a Ghanaian delegation led by the Police Service retrieved Moudjibou from Togo and brought him back to Ghana.
The handing over was facilitated under the Agreement on Cooperation in Criminal Matters between Police Services of West African States.
According to CID Boss, Moudjibou’s accomplice, Alidu Marzouk, was arrested by the Ghana Police Service on September 4, 2024, and is currently assisting with investigations.
Marzouk is believed to have been involved in the same string of high-profile robberies.
The Ghana Police Service remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all persons in the country.
The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohonu, assured the public that investigations are ongoing and efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining suspect who is still at large.
The successful arrest of Moudjibou highlights the importance of regional cooperation in tackling transnational crime. The Ghana Police Service expressed gratitude to the Togo interpol and official of Ghana Embassy in Togo for their collaboration.
