The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the well-being of candidates sitting for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in regions affected by conflict.
In a statement signed by the Director-General, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, GES announced that students from schools including Bawku SHS, Nalerigu SHS, Zuarungu SHS, and Nkwanta SHS will write their exams at their originally designated centres. The service assured that all examinations will be conducted under “safe, secure, and exam-friendly conditions.”
The statement further indicated that comprehensive security arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of candidates throughout the examination period. In addition, psychosocial support services are being provided to help students cope with the emotional impact of the ongoing unrest in these areas.
“We assure all stakeholders that our candidates are safe and well-supported to take the exams,” Prof. Davis said, reinforcing GES’s dedication to maintaining stability and confidence in the country’s educational processes.
