Freedom time praying partners pays over GH¢60,000 medical bills for patients at Korle-Bu, children’s hospital

Members of the Freedom Time Praying Partners (FTPP), a Christian prayer group, have put smiles on the faces of patients and their families by settling medical bills at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra.

Speaking during the donation exercise, the leader of the group, Pastor Bernard Owusu Ansah, said the gesture was part of activities marking his birthday.

According to him, the group embarked on the benevolent act to support patients who had been treated but were unable to pay their bills due to financial constraints. He disclosed that the Freedom Time Praying Partners paid close to GH¢70,000 in medical bills at the two facilities.

Pastor Ansah appealed to well-meaning Ghanaians to come to the aid of the needy, especially the sick and vulnerable in hospitals.

The Deputy Chief Nursing Officer at the Stroke Department of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital commended the group for the kind gesture.

She noted that such support goes a long way to relieve the burden on patients and the hospital, and urged Ghanaians to adopt regular medical check-ups to help prevent diseases and complications.

Some beneficiaries, including mothers of children on admission, expressed profound gratitude to the group, saying the intervention had brought them immense relief. They recounted how they had been stranded at the hospital after discharge due to their inability to settle their bills.
