Nana Agyenim Boateng, the founder of United Front Party (UFP), has chastised Dr Bossman Eric Asare, the Deputy Chairman in-charge of Corporate Services at the Electoral Commission, over the commission’s intention to redraw licenses of some political parties.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has served notice to revoke the registration of 17 political parties, which includes the United Front Party (UFP), if they fail to respond in writing justifying why they should be maintained on the electoral roll.
According to the electoral management body, all the 17 listed political parties have no national and regional offices as required by the Act governing political parties.
Reacting to the electoral commission’s plans on Oyerepa TV’s Ghana Tesen, the founder of UFP, said the commission is removing parties that are not affiliated with the NPP.
“Let me tell you, Bosman Asare is disgracing himself. They have made up their mind that if you are not NPP, they will replace you with an NPP-sponsored party.
Bossman Asare was an NPP polling agent at Ablekuma. He was a member of Tescon at Legon. Bossman Asare is at the electoral commission to do NPP’s work. ” Gyataba told Kwesi Parker-Wilson, the host of the show.
