Drivers’ Union Tours Kinbu-Tudu Street; Commends Accra Mayor for Traffic Relief Efforts

The drivers’ union, Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana, and other unions toured Accra’s Kinbu-Tudu Street and are hailing Accra Mayor, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, for clearing hawkers off the street and easing traffic congestion in the area.

The move follows a meeting between the union and the Mayor, where drivers expressed their struggles with hockers taking over the streets.

Nii Ashie, Greater Accra Regional Chairman of Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana, praised the Mayor for fulfilling his promise to clear the streets, saying it’s made a huge difference for drivers. “The road was blocked during and after Christmas, but the Mayor came through,” he said.

Paa Willie, President of Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana, also commended the Mayor and President John Mahama, noting that the streets are now clear and police officers are no longer harassing drivers.”The Accra Mayor’s efforts have made a huge impact, and we appreciate his leadership,” he said.

According to him, there was a major traffic jam in the Accra Kinbu-Tudu Street and Makola during the Christmas season, making it difficult for drivers to pass through. But now, things have changed, and the Mayor deserves thanks.

Paa Willie is wondering how the Accra Mayor managed to get the market women to move from the street and is hailing him as a good leader.
