The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana has toured the Kasoa-Winneba road and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for ensuring the ongoing construction of the road.
The main objective of the tour is for the Association to urge the contractor to speed up work on the road, particularly with Christmas approaching, to prevent accidents and ensure a safe passage for drivers.
The association is concerned about the traffic congestion on the road and wants the contractor to take necessary measures to avoid any untoward incidents.
For decades, drivers have been plagued by the poor state of the road, which has led to numerous accidents, traffic congestion, and economic losses.
Paa Willie, President of the Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana, noted that the road’s deplorable condition has caused drivers to spend hours stuck in traffic and increasing the risk of accidents. However, with the ongoing construction work, the group is optimistic that the road will soon be transformed, providing a safer and more efficient route for drivers.
After touring the road to assess the progress, the association expressed its appreciation for the President’s intervention in ensuring the project’s continuation after the NPP government lost power.

They called on the Minister of Roads and Highways to urge the contractor to speed up the work and adhere to the rules and regulations governing road construction.
Paa Willie emphasized that the contractor should strive to deliver a high-quality road that will reduce accidents and traffic congestion. The drivers’ association expressed its gratitude to President Mahama for his efforts in ensuring the project’s continuity, despite the change in government.
Paa Willie noted that, in the past, projects were often abandoned when there was a change in government, but President Mahama has demonstrated his commitment to completing the project. “We are very grateful for what we have seen so far,” he said.
