The sudden death of Ghanaian highlife icon Dada KD has stunned fans and industry insiders alike.
New revelations from his manager, King Pee, shed light on the distressing circumstances surrounding the musician’s final hours and the difficulties encountered in securing timely medical attention.
Speaking in an interview, King Pee shared a gripping account of the tragic ordeal.
“A lady who helps him at home heard he fell down and rushed to the room to find him unconscious and unresponsive,” King Pee told Aboagye.
“So she called a taxi driver who usually transports Dada KD around when his car isn’t working, and they rushed him to the hospital. They had to visit three hospitals before they found a doctor at the last hospital, which was the Gbawe Government Hospital.”
The revelation has sparked renewed concerns about Ghana’s healthcare system, particularly the availability of emergency medical personnel.
According to King Pee, the delay in finding a hospital with a doctor on duty could have made a difference in Dada KD’s survival.
While the exact cause of death has not been made public, many have begun questioning whether quicker intervention could have saved the life of the beloved crooner.
Dada KD, known for his soulful love songs and deep baritone voice, enjoyed a decorated career that spanned decades.
His hits became soundtracks to countless weddings and love stories, and his influence on the highlife genre is undeniable.
