The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana has suspended its nationwide strike following a government appeal to allow two weeks for the resolution of outstanding issues.
Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, March 17, Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe announced that members are expected to return to work on March 24, 2026.
“The National Executive Committee of CLOGSAG has considered the government’s 14-day appeal to address concerns relating to our salary structure and conditions of service. EXCO has decided to suspend the nationwide strike. We are instructing our members to resume work by March 24, 2026,” he stated.
Although the strike has been called off, CLOGSAG’s leadership confirmed that it will not appear before the National Labour Commission due to ongoing legal proceedings involving the Commission.
The strike, which began on March 9, 2026, was aimed at demanding the full implementation of a memorandum of understanding to establish a distinct salary structure for members within the Civil and Local Government Services.
