Member of Parliament (MP) for the Effiduase-Asokore constituency and strong member of Dr Bawumia’s campaign team Dr. Ayew Afriyie has cautioned Kennedy Agyapong on his attacks and insults raised on the New Patriotic Party (NPP’s) leaders and members in his attempt of becoming their Flagsbearer.
This stern warning comes after Presidential aspirant hopeful Kennedy Agyapong claimed at his Showdown Walk in Kumasi that Vice President Dr Bawumia and his campaign team has made an attempt to bribe him to reconsider his decision to step-down and become Dr. Bawumias running mate in the 2024 elections.
The member of parliament for Assin in his speech made some accusations against Dr Bawumia and Chairman Wontumi saying they are the ones destroying tge NPP.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Show with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel, Dr Afriyie emphasized reiterated that Dr Bawumia has never written to Kennedy Agyapong to become his running mate.
He said, there has never been such an attempt or discussion within the campaign team of Dr Bawumia as claimed by Presidential Hopeful Kennedy Agyapong.
However, he noted that some actions and comments of Kennedy Agyapong is rather causing confusion in the NPP and must not be tolerated.
“How can you go round insulting party leaders and everyone in the party and later tell them to vote for you… You don’t destroy the party with your words just because you feel certain things are not going as you expected,” he stated.
Meanwhile he emphasized that they are not disturbed by the actions and allegations from the camp of Kennedy Agyapong and that they are focused on their good message to delegates to secure victory in November 4.
“We are not interested in whatever he is saying, we are only interested in delivering the good message of Dr Bawumia to all delegates for the victory ahead on November 4” he said .
