C-DAG call for revocation of licenses of OMCs involved in diluted fuel sale
The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana (CDAG) is calling for the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to revoke the licenses of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) implicated in the sale of diluted fuel, following a report by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
According to the association, the fuel was meant for fishermen, but was instead sold to oil marketing companies, resulting in the destruction of many car engines.
The association claims the OMCs’ actions have caused significant damage to vehicles and financial hardship for drivers.
At a press briefing, CDAG President Paa Willie stated that the sale of contaminated fuel has led to unexplained breakdowns, engine failures, and increased maintenance costs, affecting drivers’ livelihoods and disrupting transport services nationwide.
He urged the government to take action against the OMCs, warning that the association will organize demonstrations if necessary.
“We demand that the NPA revokes the licenses of these OMCs for a period of one year to serve as a deterrent to others,” Paa Willie said.
The association is seeking justice for its members and wants those responsible to be held accountable.
