Dennis Miracles Aboagye, spokesperson for former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated that Dr Bawumia is fully aware that the journey to victory in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race will not be an easy one.
He says Dr Bawumia is made stronger by the attacks on him by his opponents.
“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia acknowledges the journey to victory isn’t going to be an easy one. There will be bruises and many, many scars. But ultimately, there will be victory, and the scars will only be a reminder of the struggle we had to survive in order to get to the destination.
“The attacks only make you stronger and inspire you to soldier on and get to the finish line,” Miracles Aboagye wrote on his Facebook page.
Dr Mahamadu Bawumia is set to kick off an extensive campaign tour across the Ashanti Region from September 10th to 12th.
The purpose of the tour is to engage party delegates and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as well as outline his vision ahead of the party’s crucial presidential primary on January 31st, 2026.
The campaign will cover seven key operational zones within the Ashanti Region, ensuring comprehensive outreach to every part of the region as he is set to energize the base of the party with his unity, peace and reconciliation message.
At each zone, namely Adansi, Amansie, Asante Akim, Sekyere- Kumawu, Afigya Kwabre, Mampong Nsuta, Ahafo and Atwima, as well as Kumasi Zone 1 & 2, the former Vice President and his entourage will meet with regional and constituency executives, Members of Parliament, former MMDCEs and CEOs, as well as Regional Council of Elders and former party executives.
He will formally inform them of his intentions, as key elders of the party in the region, to contest in the upcoming presidential primaries.
The tour will commence in the Adansi, Amansie and the Asante Akim zones on Wednesday and will be followed by the Sekyere Effiduase -Kumawu zone, Nsuta-Mampong and the Afigya Kwabre zones on Thursday.
The third and final zones will comprise Ahafo Atwima and the two Kumasi Operational Zones. The tour will also focus on unity and the collective effort needed to drive the party’s agenda forward.
Throughout the tour, particularly at the gatherings with the NPP regional and constituency executives, Dr. Bawumia aims to rally support, reinforce party unity, and motivate supporters to continue working hard for the party’s success in the 2028 elections.
After this preliminary tour, the former Vice President, according to sources close to his campaign, will hit the ground fully with visits to meet with electoral areas and polling station executives.
