Member of Parliament for Asokwa constituency, Madam Patricia Appiagyei has recounted her greatest regret ever since she left office in 2009 as the Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
According to Patricia Appiagyei, she wished she had finished fixing all Kumasi roads during her reign.
The issue of fixing roads within now Kumasi Metro has been a major challenge for leaders of greater Kumasi city as many inhabitants believe that, they (leaders) have completely failed to give back to society what society gave them.
However, speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Monday, the Asokwa lawmaker maker disclosed that, she tabled a lot of projects to be done in Kumasi especially, the construction of all roads in the city but she was unable to achieve her dream since she left office as a result of her party, NPP which lost power to archrivals, NDC in 2008 elections.
Despite the numerous projects she wanted to fix, her inability to construct all roads is her greatest regret and wished it never happened.
“There were a lot of projects I was embarking on in Kumasi but couldn’t complete them before living office… I wished I had completed all Kumasi roads when I was the MCE.”
The incumbent Asokwa legislator further declared that, she also aimed at developing Kumasi Central market to improve upon trading, adding that all the architectural designs were made but as she left office those projects could not be made.
Remember that, Madam Patricia Appiagyei is the first ever female to serve as mayor for KMA. She was appointed by former President J.A Kufuor to serve as the KMA boss from 2005 to 2009 but left she office after NDC took over power, hence appointing Kwadwo Bonsu for the position.
