Raymond Archer confirmed as substantive EOCO Executive Director
Raymond Archer has been confirmed as the substantive Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), effective October 27, 2026.
The confirmation was announced by EOCO Board Chairman Daniel Domelevo, who indicated that Mr Archer formally assumed the position on the date.
Mr Archer has been serving as acting Executive Director since August 2025, when he was appointed to replace the then head of the Office, Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah.
A former investigative journalist, Mr Archer now takes substantive charge of the state agency responsible for investigating and prosecuting economic and organised crime in Ghana.
EOCO’s mandate includes tackling offences such as money laundering, human trafficking and other forms of organised criminal activity that threaten the country’s economic and financial interests.
His confirmation formalises his leadership of the Office as it continues efforts to strengthen the fight against economic and organised crime.
Mr Archer’s tenure has attracted both praise and criticism, with some commending his work while others have raised concerns about what they consider a heavy-handed approach to the Office’s operations.
