Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, commonly known in showbiz scenes as Sarkodie has reacted to the death of two police officers who were allegedly killed by suspected armed robbers.
The two police officers were reportedly shot dead during a gunfight with suspected robbers in Zuarungu in the Upper East region.
According to reports, the Zuarungu District Command received a distress call that there was an ongoing robbery at Zuarungu Market. While the team was just about to be deployed to the scene, another distress call was received about the departure of two policemen who were shot by suspected armed robbers.
A team of police officers led by the Bolgatanga Divisional Commander C/Supt/Dela Dzansi and the Regional Crime Officer Supt/Reuben Dugah arrived at the crime scene and discovered a burnt Service Motorbike No. GP 2311 parked outside a provision shop.
Spot investigations revealed that No. 56205 G/Const. Emmanuel Akowuah and No. 57658 G/Const. Adam Suley was on the aforementioned Service Motorbike for routine patrols when they unexpectedly emerged at the robbery scene and were fired upon.
Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police is said to have arrived at the scene in the Upper East region to assess the development.
In reaction to that, Sarkodie while paying tribute to the two policemen who lost their lives while combating crime stated that being an officer of the law is one of the most dangerous jobs ever.
He wrote:
