Controversial Ghanaian musician Barima Sidney born, Sidney Kofi Ofori has once again tackled the severe hardship Ghanaians are going through under the NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo.

The controversial musician assertion on the hardship of the country is being shared in his new song titled, “DO SUMTIN”
The musician was seen in most of NPP campaign grounds, campaigning for the party via his song “TIME ASOOO.”

Two years down the line, Sidney has turned his back on the party to talk about his usual statement of bad governance via music.

In the new song; DO SUMTIN, Sidney claims the impending Christmas will be postponed, the party will be postponed due to the severe hardship in the country.

Below are a few lines in the Twi language..

“Bronya wei deeir y3b3 tu ash3 da, party wei deeir y3b3tu ash3 da, y3 twe a 3ntwe, y3pia a 3npia…”

Speaking in an interview with Maame Akua Asieduwaa on Oyerepa Breakfast show Wednesday, Sidney said, the rate at which Ghanaians are suffering is unbearable therefore things or the government needs to re-strategize to relieve them of their hardships so as to celebrate upcoming festivities.

Sidney is notable for releasing litigious songs which talk about bad governance and pertinent issues in the country.

He brought out songs like “PAPA NO”, “SCENT NO”, “OBIAA NYE OBIAA”, “Y3GYE YE SIKA”, “WHO BORN DOG”, “COLOUR TV”, “ENKO YIE” and now DO SUMTIN which are very controversial and could land him in trouble.

When Akua Asieduwaa enquired from Sidney whether his songs are for litigation, he stated that…

“Every musician has his strength in music. Some talk about issues of life, some talk about love among others. My strength in music is on societal issues. I sing on things that circulate on our environment, our communities, and the country at large.”

According to him, most people fear to talk about vital issues in the country and that is where he finds his rhythm to hit on them.

Sidney’s new track DO SUMTIN was released on December 1 2021 and it is circulating on all digital music platforms.

Although many Ghanaians are hovering in the various market centers of the country buying goods and services ahead of the impending Xmas festivities, Sidney however believes the much hardship in the country and must be solved by the government as soon as possible.
