Angel Asiamah, husband of evangelist and former traditional priestess Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has welcomed the Amasaman High Court’s decision to reduce her prison sentence, describing it as a major relief for the family.
On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the court upheld Nana Agradaa’s conviction but revised her custodial term to 12 months.
The presiding judge ruled that the original 15-year sentence with hard labour imposed by the trial court was excessive given the circumstances and required adjustment.
Speaking to journalists at the court after the ruling, Mr. Asiamah expressed his joy. “I am the happiest man on earth,” he said in Twi.
The court directed that the revised sentence run from the date of her conviction on July 3, 2025, meaning Nana Agradaa will now serve a total of one year in prison.
While emphasising that the offence warranted punishment, the court noted that the original sentence was disproportionate and needed to be reduced.
With the latest ruling, Nana Agradaa’s conviction remains valid, but the length of her incarceration has been substantially shortened, bringing relief to her family.
