Ahafo Regional Minister Launches Workplace Experience and Job Opportunities Initiative for TVET Students

The Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council has officially launched the much-anticipated Workplace Experience, Learning, and Permanent Job Opportunities Initiative for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students.

The event, which took place today at the RCC’s conference room, brought together key stakeholders from the government, industry, and the education sector.

Speaking at the launch, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Mrs Charity Gardiner, reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to empowering TVET students as part of the government’s broader agenda to reset and reposition the region for a prosperous future.

Mrs. Gardiner commended the collaborative effort behind the initiative, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Keda Ghana Ceramics Company, which has partnered with the region to provide practical training and employment opportunities. She also acknowledged the contributions of resource persons, staff of the Regional Coordinating Council, the Regional TVET Directorate, party executives, government officials, and members of the media for their role in bringing the project to fruition.

According to the Minister, the programme will be expanded to cover all TVET schools within the Ahafo Region. The initiative is expected to benefit over 1,046 students, offering them hands-on industrial experience and paving the way for permanent job placements.

Mrs Gardiner emphasised that the project aligns with the region’s long-term development vision, which centres on building a skilled, empowered, and future-ready workforce.

“The future of Ahafo is skilled, empowered, and prepared,” she said, highlighting the significance of practical training in boosting employability and stimulating regional development.
