The Economic and Organised Crime Office, EOCO, has invited musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, for questioning.
“As our Honourable Leaders crash and we are mourning for the country Raymond you still have that strong heart to let your boy Agyenim call my team to tell me you are inviting me where,” he shared in a post on Facebook.
In June, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) seized a vehicle belonging to musician Shatta Wale as part of an ongoing investigation. The car is reportedly linked to one Nana Amuah, who is currently incarcerated in the United States for criminal activities.
Although EOCO conducted a raid on Shatta Wale’s East Legon residence to retrieve the vehicle, the artist appealed to the agency, arguing that a public seizure would harm his image.
He promised to hand over the car voluntarily—a commitment he fulfilled.
However, in recent days, Shatta Wale has taken to social media to express frustration over the June incident, prompting EOCO’s Executive Director to issue a public statement clarifying the investigation.
During a series of posts and a livestream, Shatta Wale revealed that he surrendered the car after being told it had been involved in a shooting incident in the U.S. He maintained that he purchased the car legally through a third party and was unaware of its origins. Initially, he was informed that the investigation centered around someone named Adu-Boahene, but later learned the vehicle was connected to Nana Amuah—a person he claims not to know.
