Ghanaian singer-songwriter Cina Soul, known offstage as Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome, has voiced her fears after a disturbing comment made by Kumawood actor Big Akwes.
In a video that has since gone viral on her X (formerly Twitter) page, Big Akwes was captured participating in a game of “Kiss, Marry, Kill” during an interview on Bryt TV. When asked to choose between fellow actress Vivian Jill and Cina Soul, Akwes casually said he would marry Vivian Jill—but what followed alarmed many viewers.
In an unsettling twist, Big Akwes declared that he would “kill Cina Soul,” going further to vividly describe how he would spiritually summon her using a magical mirror, stab her repeatedly with a knife, and drink her blood.
The graphic and violent nature of the statement left Cina Soul visibly shaken. She responded on social media, tagging both the Ghana Police Service and the Ministry of Communications, expressing her deep concern over the threat. She stated that she feels genuinely endangered and called for immediate action from authorities.
“I’m deeply unsettled by this. I initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because I do not wish to be associated with this individual, but at this point, I feel genuinely threatened.
I may not know the proper channels to report this, but it’s critical we take a firm stance against this kind of dangerous rhetoric being broadcast on our TV and radio platforms. We must not normalize hate,” she posted.
Her cry for help has been met with an outpouring of support, while both Big Akwes and Bryt TV have been widely condemned for airing the clip.
A History of Verbal Attacks
Big Akwes first came under fire in April 2025 after he criticized Cina Soul for the outfits she wore in a dance promo for her album Did I Lie?
He labelled her appearance “attention-seeking” and body-shamed her, prompting widespread backlash.
In response, Max TV issued a public apology to Cina Soul, acknowledging that the remarks were inappropriate.
Meanwhile, Akwes doubled down, refusing to apologise and urging viewers to “re‑analyse” the clip.
