During a recent youth-centred event in Accra, known as “Bawumia for Jobs,” the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, delivered a compelling message to young voters before the December elections.
Addressing Ghana’s youth directly, he encouraged them to engage actively in the democratic process, stressing the importance of electing a leader capable of ensuring a prosperous future for the upcoming generation.
“I know some of you may not be too eager to vote. I don’t blame you if you’ve bought into the view that all politicians are the same,” Bawumia remarked. “But that’s not so,” he stressed, encouraging the audience to reconsider any disillusionment they might feel.
His message was clear: not all leaders are the same, and voters should not let cynicism deter them from making a difference at the ballot box.
Dr. Bawumia’s call to action centred on his leadership vision and pledge to serve Ghanaians responsibly. “You can trust me to protect the public purse and to use it selflessly to serve you,” he assured, adding that he would work tirelessly to ensure transparency and accountability in governance. “To the young voters of Ghana, I ask you, do not switch off. I ask you to get involved,” he said, appealing to young Ghanaians to stay engaged in the political process rather than lose hope.
