Renowned Gospel singer Esther Smith has urged Ghanaians to draw from their personal experiences when casting their votes in the upcoming elections.
In an interview on Cape Coast-based Property FM, the multiple award-winning artist advised the youth to prioritize peaceful voting and refrain from putting their lives on the line for politicians, whom she described as dishonest.
Smith emphasized that politicians often make empty promises, leaving the youth to bear the brunt of hardship.
She cautioned against sacrificing one’s life for politicians who prioritize their interests over the welfare of the people. Instead, she encouraged the youth to make informed decisions at the polls, guided by their own experiences and the reality of their circumstances.
“So the little advice I can give is to vote for who you prefer and go home quietly because some people sacrifice their lives for politicians, but things remain the same when they come.
“It’s on a few occasions that we feel some changes so vote peacefully and this is just a contest of ideas but being an NDC doesn’t mean everyone should belong to where you are.
“Everyone has gotten their own mindset and even twins from the same mother have different opinions so I’ll say that look at what is happening in your life to vote,” she said during an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
