Ghanaian actress Janet Ackom recently opened up about her past romantic relationship with the late renowned actor Asonaba Kwaku Darko, also known as Super OD.
In a candid conversation with Akosua High Tension on Atinka FM’s Efisem program, Janet shared details of their decade-long love affair, providing insight into the depth of their connection.
Affectionately known as Mama Jane, she revealed that their initial meeting took an unexpected turn when Super OD secretly spiked her drink, resulting in an encounter that she had not consented to.
Upon regaining consciousness, Janet discovered that Super OD had been intimate with her and asserted his dominance in their relationship, forbidding her from seeing other people and claiming exclusivity from that moment on.
Mama Jane admitted, “Yes, Super OD and I were an item for a solid decade. I recall a time when we went to a hotel. At 21, I was quite the looker. I opted for a Fanta, oblivious to the fact that OD had tampered with my drink. I lost consciousness, only to realize later that he had been with me.
“He made it clear that I was to reject advances from other men, particularly our colleagues, threatening physical harm and professional repercussions if I disobeyed,” she recounted.
Despite the tumultuous start, Mama Jane acknowledged that her relationship with Super OD positively impacted her life in many respects.
After parting ways with him, she eventually married another man, with whom she shares two children.
