Samira Bawumia, the wife of the Vice President, delivered a passionate plea to Zongo communities, urging them to offer unwavering support to her husband and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to secure victory in the upcoming December general elections.
During a speech at a Ramadan conference held at the central mosque in Kumasi, Samira Bawumia emphasized the critical importance of electing her husband, Dr. Bawumia, and the NPP in the December elections. She asserted that this was the only way to ensure the continuation of the ongoing socio-economic transformation initiatives in Zongo communities and across the nation.
Addressing Zongo queen mothers and female clerics at the conference, which centred on the theme of “advocating the contribution of Zongo queen mothers and female clerics to national development,” Samira Bawumia highlighted the significant progress made by the NPP government since 2017 in implementing development projects aimed at empowering Zongo communities and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
Samira Bawumia emphasized the NPP’s recognition of the significant impact and contribution of Muslim women clerics and queen mothers in national development. She urged them to continue spreading messages of peace as the upcoming elections approach.
Bawumia expressed the importance of providing opportunities for the sons of Zongo communities to showcase their abilities and contribute to the nation’s development.
She encouraged Muslims and residents of Zongo communities to view Dr. Bawumia as a servant sent by God to elevate Ghana’s fortunes. She highlighted the potential of individuals from Zongo communities to effect positive change not only locally but also on a national scale.
Bawumia stressed the crucial role of women clerics in promoting education for a brighter future, particularly for girls in their communities.
Dr. Abdullah Banda, chairman of the Hajj Board, reminded attendees of the NPP’s commitment to Zongo communities and urged them to vote overwhelmingly for Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia in the upcoming December elections to secure his presidency in Ghana.
