Many actors and actresses have expressed deep concerns about the negative impact of superstition, known as “juju,” on the Ghana movie industry, particularly Kumawood.
According to industry insiders, many individuals, including actors, actresses, producers, and directors, resort to spiritual powers or black magic in order to either sabotage or ensure the success of their work. This belief is seen as a contributing factor to the decline of Kumawood.
While some dismiss these claims as baseless, popular actor Kwaku Manu has revealed that there are indeed instances of spiritual attacks within the movie industry, particularly in Kumawood.
Kwaku Manu emphasizes the seriousness of black powers, or “juju,” in the film industry, warning that those who fail to seek protection may face premature death.
During an interview on the Oyerepa Cinifie Showbiz, Kwaku Manu cautioned against discussing the personal matters of actors and actresses, as it could leave them vulnerable to spiritual harm.
“Be careful about what you say about people in the movie industry. Don’t see yourself as a leader and for that matter you will like to talk about issues related to industry players. If you don’t die, you’ll go crazy because no one has asked you to sniff their matters.” He stated on Oyerepa Cinifie Showbiz, last Saturday.
Kwaku Manu added that, “There are attacks (Juju) in the movie industry so know how to cope with these attacks and live long. Be extra careful because if you joke in the industry someone will kill you.”
