Joseph Oscar Nii Armah Mettle, a preeminent Ghanaian gospel singer, generally known as Joe Mettle, recently voiced his remorse for not fully embracing his music lessons during his school years.
Mettle, who attended Accra Academy for his Senior High School education and Pentecost University for his Tertiary education, candidly admitted that he did not harbour any aspirations of pursuing music during that period.
Consequently, he did not accord it the level of dedication and commitment it truly deserved.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the VGMA 2017 Artiste of the Year, stated, “I think I should have taken my music lessons seriously when I was in school. At that time, I didn’t know I would be taking it up one day so I didn’t take it seriously. That is one regret I have in life.”
Despite his regrets, Joe Mettle has managed to build an extraordinary musical career, marked by the release of seven albums, numerous accolades, the ownership of a music studio called Reverb, and the leadership of the renowned music band, Love Gift.
When contemplating his journey, Joe Mettle expresses a profound sense of satisfaction with the person he has become and the divine path that God has paved for him.
“I won’t choose who I am over anything. I think I love what God has made me and I love the assignment He has given me. Aside from everything, I enjoy serving in this ministry. I love to sing; I love to write. So I just love who I am and what I do.”
Aside his music career, Joe Mettle has recently opened up about his deep joy in his matrimony to his beloved wife, Salomey Selassie Dzisa, with whom he tied the knot in 2020.
With a beaming smile, he shared, “It’s evident that marriage has been a blessing in my life. My family is thriving, and I am immensely grateful to God for all His blessings.”
In addition to his marital bliss, Joe Mettle took a moment to express his heartfelt appreciation to his dedicated fans for their unwavering support throughout his journey.
He said, “I want to say thank you for supporting the gift and ministry God has given me. I believe that ministry is about people. So if they don’t support you, you have no ministry. Thank you for the prayers, the thoughts, and everything you do to support what God has called me to do.”
