The Member of Parliament for Kwadaso constituency, Prof. Kingsley Nyarko has attacked a political science lecturer at the University of Ghana, Prof. Ransford Gyampo for consistent criticisms of President Akufo-Addo’s government.
According to the Kwadaso, MP, Prof Gyampo hates Nana Addo and is therefore doing everything possible to tarnish his hard-earned image.
The lawmaker’s comments arrive after Prof Gyampo on his Facebook page hit hard at Nana Addo for requesting for the Curricula Vitae (CV) of Senior Management of State Agencies, including the EC from the director and above.
Prof. Gyampo, in the post, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, asked President Nana Addo, “Why do you want to do this to an Independent Commission? It appears under your tenure, you are doing everything you can to decimate the independence of all independent institutions, but to what end?
“The history of Ghana’s Fourth Republic shows that you are currently the worst President in promoting the sanctity of the independence of the Electoral Commission”, Prof Gyampo wrote.
Reacting to his comments on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Wednesday, the Kwadaso legislator stated categorically that, Gyampo hates Akufo-Addo hence the severe and frequent criticism.
Kingsley Nyarko disclosed that the University of Ghana lecturer from day one did not want Nana Addo to become President of Ghana. Citing an instance, he said, in 2016, Prof Gyampo made it clear that, there was no way, Akufo-Addo would become President of Ghana but, his (Gyampo’s) wish did not materialise.
“Prof. Gyampo told me Akufo-Addo cannot be President in this country. In 2016 he (Gyampo) told me he (Nana Addo) cannot win. If you like put him on air to deny.” Kingsley Nyarko revealed on the show.
He added, “After he said that, we had several banter.”
Meanwhile, the office of President Akufo-Addo on Monday, a memo dated May 29, 2023, demanded the Curricula Vitae (CV) of Senior Management of State Agencies, including the EC from director and above.
They were said to submit the CVs on noon of the same day through [email protected]
