Popular Kumawood movie producer, Director and media practitioner, Richmond Afrane has indicated that foreign epic tv series translated into the Twi language are gradually fading away.
This is a result of the revamp of the local movies and TV series.
The Director of ‘Boafo Ye Na’ TV series showing on Oyerapa TV believes that local movies are gradually getting ground after their fall some years back.
A lot of Ghanaians lost interest in local movies after the fall of Kumawood about a decade ago.
But according to Richmond, movie producers, and directors in Ghana have learnt a lot of lessons so they are now working assiduously to improve upon their work.
He thinks the local movies or series are now at the level of foreign movies. Stating that the changes made by them have undoubtedly had a consequential effect on the foreign epic tv series since the indigenes are swiftly getting back to Ghana-made movies.
Richmond Afrane made the statement in an interview with Oyerepa Online.
He disclosed that his upcoming TV series, ‘Abusua Akwantuo’ would be premiered soon therefore viewers should keep their fingers crossed for beautiful, educative, interesting and quality episodes.
He however pleaded with the government of Ghana to resource the film industry since it can employ a lot of the youth in the country.
Afrane added that, if the government is able to support film producers they can produce quality content for Ghanaians.
